Drinkable Liquids

Ha ha, all of my posts as of late have been about food. I swear I don't spend all of my time eating.
.....probably. (@´_`@)

I generally consume a lot more liquids than I do solids. (´ω`♡%)

I often have coffee, water, juice, and sometimes a light soup for breakfast. One of my hobbies is collecting cute mugs, but I definitely put them to use.

I'm not a coffee snob by any means, but I really do enjoy my coffee. I know I should probably switch to tea, but I'd miss my bitter daily brew too much! ≧(´▽`)≦

The easy way out

I once comforted a friend who had a deep friendship broken off by text message. At the time I thought that was the most cowardly way to end something.

But I think now that silently running from problems is probably the biggest disservice you can do to your self and others.

Because life is filled with things that are hard, and people who won't make everything easier for you.
And you can sit and fume and feel jealous of people who seem to be better off than you, but giving up before you do anything isn't going to solve anything.

And you can easily make excuses for why nothing seems to go your way, but in the end but I think it comes down to this.

I'm not very fond of beer...

But a lot of stylish or funny beer cans make me wish I did. ヾ(*´ー`)ノ

Mocha ☆ Adventures

I recently went to Canadia, as Vancouver was having their 3rd Annual Hot Chocolate Festival. ヽ(*・ω・)ノ

I'm a really big fan of Shirokuma Cafe, so I was really interested in #15 – SHIROKUMA.
The set was a collaboration between Blenz + Cocolico. A mug of white hot chocolate and green tea came with three piece set of chocos. o((*^▽^*))o

The choco trio was a bar of White Chocolate with Caramelized Cocoa Nib Praline, a Milk Chocolate with Salted Toffee Hazelnut, and Dark Chocolate with Almond, Apricot & Violet.
The dark chocolate was probably my favorite, as I'm more fond of bitter-sweet things. Ψ(´▽`)Ψ

I think the concept of the drink was adorable, as Shirokuma-san is a Canadian polar bear who runs an organic cafe in Japan. I happen to be a big fan of the series!
It was unfortunate that the drink was not especially delicious. It wasn't a bad drink, but I think the macha flavor was fairly weak, and it tasted more like sweet milk than anything.

I did have a lot of fun with my Canadian friends, and I'm looking forward to visiting again soon! ☆ミ(o*・ω・)ノ

Final Distance

Not all goodbyes are forever.

Sometimes goodbye is just a gateway to another adventure, to more beginnings and to more social links.

But even if we're far apart, we still have our memories, the things we laughed at, all our silly little jokes.

So don't look back when you depart, as you're not leaving a comfortable past behind you, but stepping in to the brilliant future.

Busy Busy Busy

There is so much to be done, and so little time to do it in. ( ;´Д`)

I think they we all wish that major signs of change would come in nice, manageable waves, allowing us to ruminate and come to the most logical and wise decisions.

I don't know if it's just my timing, but lately it seems that a large multitude of options have come crashing down on me.  (;° ロ°)

It never seems to be one or two things with me, it always seems that big decisions, big changes, big movements are shaking my web, and that I seem to be looking down at a pair of destiny's trousers that seem more fitting for octopi than for people. 。:゚*+;(●´・д・`●);+*゚:。

Let's hope I choose the right path.

This is Alcohol.

Breakfast today was coffee and waffles. (●⌒∇⌒●)

Today is a cloudy and a little drizzly. I feel like curling up with a book and being lazy, but I've got a long list of quests today to get done.

I've been re-reading the City Watch series lately. but Ankh-Morpork will just have to wait until I've been a productive adult for the day. ┗┃・ ■ ・┃┛

January wasn't the best of months, and the first few days of February haven't been so good so far, but the world that gives us things like alcoholic Calpis can't be that bad, right? ヽ(*・ω・)ノ

My Hero is Usopp.

Whenever I feel like nobody cares about my efforts, and how spending the evening playing Idolm@ster will be no different than spending it doing sit-ups and vocal exercises, I think of my unsung heros.

No one looks at them to save the day, no one expects them to defeat the big baddy, and no one really appreciates all the things that they do for others.

But they keep at it because they have their own dreams, they have their own goals, and to them, they are the Hero of their story, even if no one else thinks that they are.

My Hero Usopp will probably never get to be the main focus on a poster or a bottle of ramune. The most he might hope for is to get to stand behind Luffy.

But Usopp has battled alongside Giants, he has held his own against monsters, he has become a fierce masked hero, and he is the one behind the flag that is the soul of the Mugiwara Pirates.

Isn't there something you should be doing now?

Adult choices

I think the difference between thinking you're an adult and actually being one is the way you take responsibility for your choices.

The way you treat people, the company you keep, the hopes you have for your future and the way you try to catch up to that image. All of those are choices you make in your life.

Each of those choices you make send you down a different path, a different life than you might have had with different choices.

Instead of looking back at what futures the choices you have made may have taken you, remember that the future is filled with infinite possibilities for happiness.

Tonight my adult choices involve pea soup and cheese quesadillas.

There are always endings.

It's a terrible feeling to see a friendship end, but when the end has come, there's no point in pretending that something is still there.

It doesn't feel right to not really feel anything, so I suppose I feel relieved that it's over.

I think the only thing you can try to do is not be a shit person, and hope that other people are doing their best as well.

Tea time

It's the season again for teas and coffees and delicious warm things.

I just want to curl up with fluffy blankets and warm delicious liquids and hole away for the winter!

Combini Love

As much as I love staying in and hermiting it up,  I miss the big city and it's convenience!

There's nothing like getting a beef bowl late at night, or strolling to the combini for odens, or deciding that 2 AM is the best time to pick up some silly fruity chuhai and watch crazy japanase variety programs. ヾ(*д*)ノ゛

I miss you my dear Famimas and Lawsons!

Moe drink?

According to the maid, this is some alien possibly Kyubei like entity.

Just to be safe, it should be destroyed quickly! And by destroyed quickly, I mean drunk fast in all it's syrupy faintly coffee flavored glory. ヽ(‘ー`)ノ

I'm not fond of sweet coffee, but this is probably the most moe coffee drink I've ever seen. *(*´∀`*)☆

Everyday's great at your Junes.

So Jusco, the store chain Junes is based off of, has been gone in Japan for almost 2 years now. Now they're all Aeon malls. ┗┐ヽ(′Д、`*)ノ┌┛

I love nerdy mugs, but I'm not as fond of the ones with anime character faces on them, so mugs like this make me really happy!  *(*´∀`*)☆

Healthy breakfasts

The worst feeling in the world is waking up knowing that the Lawsons with the oden square is an ocean away from your house.

The next worst feeling is knowing that your roommate bought a new coffee machine while you were in Japan, and now you must navigate high tech machinery before you're quite awake in order to obtain coffees.

It's sometimes the little things you miss the most when you don't quite belong to a country, like price of a tall drip coffee or the availability of nikuman around just about every corner in the winter.

世界も半分、私も半分。
The world can only be seen half ways at a time.

Coffee Land!

As much as I loved Tokyo, it's good to be back home!

Instead of unpacking last night I mostly slept and sorted through travel pictures. I forgot how many pictures of things I drank I took. ( ´∀`)

I think I missed my old man coat the most.

It's the bunny on your cup

I get on a plane back for Seattle in a few hours.

I'll definitely miss Japan, with all it's adorable and interesting things. (´ω`♡%)

While there's a lot of xenophobic things about Japan that I don't like, there's still reminders that some people will put in the little extra effort to make the world a little bit better for you.

Being mistaken for being gaijin isn't completely bad when the Japanese barista makes that thoughtful doodle on your cup.
