1 / 0

So we we released Digital Kingyo almost a week back. We decided to release it for free for a week (it's still free for those of you looking), and we've gotten some pretty good feedback.

What surprised me though, was that two people had opted to pay money for the single.

It surprised me, since I'm used to even people who really like my music telling me they downloaded it or otherwise got it for free.

That someone out there liked our music enough that they wanted to throw money at us in the hopes that we would make more is a pretty big thing for a musician.

It showed me that even while we don't make nearly enough money making music to pay the bills, there are still people out there who would like to see us at that point someday.

It's as big as the difference between 1 and 0.

Victory of Technology

Aha! It looks like posting from my phone is not as difficult as I initially assumed. (ノ*゜▽゜*)

Q. Should I ever bother commenting? Or is this the kind of blog that the writer never responds to comments?

A. I might take a few days or so to get around to replying, but I try to keep up with the few comments I get around here.
I read all the comments I get here, and always appreciate the support. ლ(́◉◞౪◟◉‵ლ)

He is a man.

I'm going to be off line for a few days while I get a new vaio charger =w=;;;;

I'll see what I can do about posting from my phone, but things will prolly be a bit quiet around here for the next few days~

Small Difficulties

So many little things going wrong with us so close to getting everything done for the album.

But slowly but surely songs are getting perfected, detail work getting done, and no amount of broken routers or ac adapters is going to stop me.

Tea time

It's the season again for teas and coffees and delicious warm things.

I just want to curl up with fluffy blankets and warm delicious liquids and hole away for the winter!

Combini Love

As much as I love staying in and hermiting it up,  I miss the big city and it's convenience!

There's nothing like getting a beef bowl late at night, or strolling to the combini for odens, or deciding that 2 AM is the best time to pick up some silly fruity chuhai and watch crazy japanase variety programs. ヾ(*д*)ノ゛

I miss you my dear Famimas and Lawsons!

Pictures and things

Q. Who takes the pictures on your blog, CD and Single covers?

I take all the photos on my blog unless otherwise stated~  (*´・v・)

For our CD covers, I have some great friends who do the photos of me~! You can find them listed on the 'About' page!
For our singles, I usually take photos and herp around with them~  ヽ(‘ ∇‘ )ノ

Have you all been good boys and girls and robots?

Airport Eateries

In Japan, even the Subways are stylish.

Kobito Maido

メイドの描いたコビト図鑑。。。。ウマ!! ((((;゜Д゜)))

It was apparently the Maid's first time drawing Kobito Zukan.... but she was surprisingly good at it! ((((;゜Д゜)))

Just a bit more!

I keep telling my self, just a bit more and every thing will be done.

All I can do in the mean time is try to sort out my life, and plan for the future.

Pandas are cute

And a shop near the Ueno Zoo sells panda nikuman. =w=~

Unreachable Differences.

I'm glad that I have people around me that care for me.

Even if we can't understand each other, even if we're in completely different situations, it's always reassuring to see that you have people around you who want to see you feel better.

I don't know if any of them will see this, or even if anyone reads this blog, but I do feel better after a hug or a bit of candy or a bit of coffee. And I love you all.

Unhappy Icecream

I know I have so much to do.

But all I feel like doing is drinking tea and curling up with a book.

Princess Pudding!

I miss the maid cafe's in Japan! ( ̄(エ) ̄)

The maid that dropped my pudding on my parfait missed her mark.... and it was so cute!

The pudding was quite delicious~!

And then I blew the world up

I hate being so angry.

I just want to blow up at the world and rant to my heart's content about every real and perceived injustice the world has thrown at me.

It's hard to have realized that you've misplaced your trust in someone, especially when you've done it for so long.

I hate being so angry.

Time gone by

It's difficult to see the world speed by you while you feel like you're waiting eternally for the light to change.

False Advertisement.

This shop, despite all appearances  does not cater to a nerdling clientele.

A moment of quiet.

Sometimes you need a coffee shop not for the coffee, but for the assurance that the barista is reasonably nice, the coffee is warm, and you have a place to collect your thoughts.

As much as coffee snobs look down on places that have mediocre coffee, I appreciate all the places that have a reasonable warmth for a price. And a place to sit and piece together your seething thoughts.

Moe drink?

According to the maid, this is some alien possibly Kyubei like entity.

Just to be safe, it should be destroyed quickly! And by destroyed quickly, I mean drunk fast in all it's syrupy faintly coffee flavored glory. ヽ(‘ー`)ノ

I'm not fond of sweet coffee, but this is probably the most moe coffee drink I've ever seen. *(*´∀`*)☆

Unfortunate Decisions.

No matter what your personal thoughts about Kuroko no Basket are, I think the stance that Comiket has taken is a very disappointing one.

Historic silliness.

I didn't get around to watching this while I was in Japan. (´;ω;`)

It seems like historic things are getting more popular in Japanese media as of late.
I saw Thermae Romae in the summer, and it was pretty amazing! ヽ(◕‿◕✿)ノ

I hope this trend of making high-budget historical movie continues~

Bear!

Why are things that are supposed to be dangerous so cute in parfait form?

Monday, December 10, 2012

Everyday's great at your Junes.

So Jusco, the store chain Junes is based off of, has been gone in Japan for almost 2 years now. Now they're all Aeon malls. ┗┐ヽ(′Д、`*)ノ┌┛

I love nerdy mugs, but I'm not as fond of the ones with anime character faces on them, so mugs like this make me really happy!  *(*´∀`*)☆

えぶりでいヤングライフじゅねす~ ♫・*:.。. .。.:*・

Square bats.

In Japan, even Batman is kawaii.

Delicious Bunny!

うささんぱふえかわゆすうううううう!

I think one of the things I like the most about Japan is that normal things tend to be stylish or cute, and cute things tend to be a little ridiculous.

But I think that at the end of a long day, an adorable parfait served by an adorable maid in the settings of an adorable cafe is a pretty nice way to ease your stress. (❁´◡`❁)*✲゚*

Just look at that bunny's face? Doesn't he look delicious?  ヽ(◕‿◕✿)ノ

Delicious delicious Ramens.

らあめえん食べたあああああああああああああああああああああああああああああああああああいいい!

My mistake

Oh wait no, it's just Franky.

Next step of Mankind.

IN THE DARKNESS.
RISES AN ENEMY.
NEITHER MAN.
NOR MACHINE.
BUT 100%.
PERVERT.

Danger, do not touch.

It's only been hanging for two days, so apparently it's still dangerous to touch.

Somethings you have to let lay for a few days before they're safe to touch again.
Sometimes things are never safe to touch, and sometimes people don't want to hear the things you have to say.

Words are very dangerous, as they're ways to connect with others, to share your thoughts, and to hurt others.
It's difficult to share your words with others, as you never know what they will hear.

My wife's ice cream.

USOPP IS MY FAVORITE ONE PIECE CHARACTER.

Dorothy and I went to Namja Town for their One Piece fair! They had all sorts of appetizing looking ice creams, but I only had eyes for this guys~ ヽ(◕‿◕✿)ノ

Usopp looks so cool in his new outfit~! I love his shark hat as well~

愛は時折冷たいもの。
What a delicious love this is.

Healthy breakfasts

The worst feeling in the world is waking up knowing that the Lawsons with the oden square is an ocean away from your house.

The next worst feeling is knowing that your roommate bought a new coffee machine while you were in Japan, and now you must navigate high tech machinery before you're quite awake in order to obtain coffees.

It's sometimes the little things you miss the most when you don't quite belong to a country, like price of a tall drip coffee or the availability of nikuman around just about every corner in the winter.

世界も半分、私も半分。
The world can only be seen half ways at a time.

Snufkin is my hero.

When I grow up, I want to be an adult that's free to love the things they love, to travel as freely as their heart wishes, and who can be free to be angry at things that go against the things they believe in.

大人になったら、
好きなものをあたりまえのように好きだと言えて、
好きな所へどこまでも行けて、
大事なことには思う存分怒れる
そんな人になれますように。

Glorious Fairies

Sometimes the greatest of treasures are only to be found in the hardest of places to see.

Coffee Land!

As much as I loved Tokyo, it's good to be back home!

Instead of unpacking last night I mostly slept and sorted through travel pictures. I forgot how many pictures of things I drank I took. ( ´∀`)

I think I missed my old man coat the most.

Moai

So the Moai in Shibuya is much harder to find than you would think.

It is, only around the corner from Hachiko, and right outside one of the exists of the train station, but somehow I managed to loop around quite a bit before finding it. =w=;;

It's somehow both bigger and smaller than I expected. The Japanese business man standing in from of it was kind enough to  move when it looked like we wanted photos of it, although he looked a little mystified.

This is not my breakfast today.

That feeling when it's the middle of the night and you think you have no food in your house because you just got back from a long trip and haven't gone to the grocer's yet.

The feeling when you realize you accidentally brought home foodstuff to cook in with rice and are not, in fact, completely fucked.

I eagerly await the next 20 minutes.

Glorious Science.

The world is filled with interesting things.

The world is filled with interesting people, interesting places, and interesting things.
The world is only a boring place if you're only interested in yourself.
If you're only interested in yourself and how you appear to others, I can only imagine that the world is disappointing indeed.

And then I was back in Seattle

I'm so tired!

Tokyo was a lot of fun, but I'm definitely happy to be back home~ (●´∀`●)

I thought I left my room is a huge mess before I left, but it was actually clean! The best of surprises. (ノ´ー`)ノ

Now to recover from all the adventuring and travelings.....  (´〜`*) zzz

It's the bunny on your cup

I get on a plane back for Seattle in a few hours.

I'll definitely miss Japan, with all it's adorable and interesting things. (´ω`♡%)

While there's a lot of xenophobic things about Japan that I don't like, there's still reminders that some people will put in the little extra effort to make the world a little bit better for you.

Being mistaken for being gaijin isn't completely bad when the Japanese barista makes that thoughtful doodle on your cup.

You always forget something

My laptop charger got left in my hotel room! щ(゜ロ゜щ)

I suppose I'll have to console my self with the fact that this exists.

At Narita airport!

...but I'm not leaving until tomorrow

It's been a hell of a week. I saw lots of people that are normally pretty far away, ate all the delicious things, saw all the adorable things, and pretty much had an amazing time.

I've still got a lot to think about, but for now the future is looking brighter.

Today is Akihabara Adventures!

I am pretty excited about today!

It's going to be filled with Maido, figures, anime goods, and all sorts of nerdy things~  *(*´∀`*)☆

It's going to be a busy few days before we get back to the US, but I'll fight to keep my HP up!  ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

Breakfast of Champions

Yesterday I spent the loveliest of days with my darling Dorothy, and the adorabibbles Ayu-tan~ ヽ(^Д^)ノ

Odaiba and Namja Town were great fun! Dorothy and I derped in One Pie- I mean, Namja Town forever before Odaiba. It was surprisingly really fun! It's set for Gyoza Kingdom is super Showa themed, which we both enjoy~

After meeting up with Ayu-tans, we headed off to Odaiba~ We were just in time for a glorious sunset! (´ω`★)

We completed the One Piece stamp rally,  I got to see all of my waifu Usopp across town, we had tiny bowls of ramen and derped in the most adorable of stores, and generally had a crazy awesome time.

Odaiba is amazing fun, and I can't wait to go again! (ღ˘⌣˘ღ) ♫・*:.。. .。.:*・

Today was another glorious day in Odaiba

Today I got to see two old friends that I haven't gotten to see in a very long time. (❁´◡`❁)*✲゚*

It was a thoroughly enjoyable day, with One Piece derpings, surprise Namja town adventures, poking around cute shops for accessories and bags, and visiting a moe-moe maid cafe where we played with our food.

I'm going to go to sleep a very very happy Rai.

I have lost my gloves.

I think that it's important to try and see how you look to other people.

It feels like seeing something from someone else's point of view shouldn't be as hard as it is.It's very hard to be empathetic, although it's easy to be kind.

But it's hard to tell people that they are kind, but not every empathetic.
